using Integra Apps a customer experience A review of the challenges faced that lead to the decision to purchase and Implement Applimation Integra Apps and the issues faced in post-Implementation. Xansa is in the process of Developing and Implementing a single Oracle Financials instance for one of its Telecommunications clients. This Instance will replace the multi-instances that exist outside of the UK at various Oracle release levels from 11.03 to 11.5.10. Although the end game is a single instance, during the Development phase there will still be a large number of instances in use at Development, Test, Pre-Production, Production and Master status. This clearly requires a high degree of synchronisation across the various environments as well as the ability to identify changes and differences during both Development and Operational running. This presentation will look at the challenges faced, the decisions taken, how we implemented Integra Apps and the issues we still face. Besides its value during the design and implementation phases, Setup Reporter will allow on-going tracking of changes, automated documentation and reporting on setups, setup comparison across instances, the ability to analyse and resolve upgrade problems quickly and deliver a clear audit trail record for tighter controls. ------------------------------------------------------- Performance from a Different Perspective ------------------------------------------------------- Create the Intelligent Enterprise TM Today, most organisations are unable to effectively manage their current and future performance. Well it looks likely similar compliance measures will come into place in the UK/EU in the next year or so and we need to be ready for it. This presentation discusses the impact of SOX IT audit on Oracle e-Business Suite users, how and on what IT auditors are assessing parts of your e-Business setup and what you can do today to be ready for your IT auditors. ------------------------------------------------------- Many ways to become DBA The common security vulnerabilities that allow hackers, users or
indeed anyone to gain more privileges in your databases than was designed
are highlighted. I also discuss common attack vectors used including
many example intrusions. The problems with securing data are summarised
into groups and solutions are proposed. The talk is not rocket science
and is aimed at anyone who has a reasonable understanding of Oracle. |
